Project Details
Description
This project is towards providing the initial proof-of-concept demonstration of an overactive bladder (OAB) biomarker detection platform. The resulting prototype biosensor detection platform will offer a step-change in providing a non-invasive and effective means of diagnosing OAB; allowing earlier, targeted treatment and symptom monitoring which together will benefit patients through improved outcomes. Specifically our objectives are to:
- Generate and validate separate biosensors for each of the biomarker molecules that make up our specific OAB fingerprint.
- Combine the separate biosensors into a single biosensor detection platform capable of simultaneously identifying the biomarker molecules of our OAB fingerprint.
- Validate the OAB biomarker detection platform using our biobank of clinically-characterised patient urine samples.
