Description
Academic Lead for the University in its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
My contribution was to initiate, negotiate and conclude (and now manage) the MoU and the relationship with the leadership teams of both offices.
This MoU will support the University’s strategic priority to leverage more income from research (and innovation) through IP and commercialisation as well as enable its students to enhance their employability as the MoU gives them access to the Pan-European Seal Professional Traineeship Programme (PES). This programme provides for MoU universities to send their students to the EUIPO and EPO for 3-year salaried work placements via a competitive application process.
