An interdisciplinary approach to reducing plastic pollution: human perception, macaque interactions and arts-based awareness initiatives in South Sulawesi

Project Details

Description

The overarching aim of this interdisciplinary project is to help tackle the global issue of plastic pollution by gaining a better understanding of people's perceptions of plastic pollution in terrestrial ecosystems and its impact on wildlife, with a focus in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. To do this, this project will systematically analyse wildlife interactions with plastic waste, examine people’s knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours towards plastic pollution across different environments, and co-design and evaluate arts-based interventions to promote awareness and behavioural change.
