Autism Centre for Research on Employment

Project Details

Description

Funding was received from the Department of Health: Autism Innovation Fund for the creation of the Autism Centre for Research on Employment. As part of the funding ACRE run an employment programme, the ACE programme. The aim of this programme was, first, to provide work placements for autistic people without learning disabilities, and second, to develop profile assessment tools to support line managers in making reasonable adjustments in the workplace. The programme showed that the profile assessments reduce the cost of delivering work programmes for autistic adults and increase their satisfaction with the adjustments mad by their employers. The details of the outcomes of this project are summarised in the publication below.
