Coastal rewilding and food security: understanding restoration pathways using ecoacoustics and environmental DNA (eDNA)

    Project Details

    Description

In collaboration with Sussex University, Dr Mike Peck is PI, and I am Co.I for a SoCoBio DTP funded PhD. The project will investigate the recruitment of fish and invertebrates to a protected kelp habitat covering more 170 sq kilometres. We will be using novel techniques, such as eDNA to determine increases of new species recruiting to the protected kelp area over time. These data will be ground-truthed using underwater video and SCUBA surveys.
