    Description

The aim of this review was to examine and compare the quality of life (QoL) for individuals living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). During July 2023, the following databases were searched for published and grey literature; APA PsycINFO, Academic Search Complete, CINAHL, MEDLINE, EThOS and STORE. 16 studies were included within this review, and quality appraisal was completed using the Effective Public Healthcare Practice Project Quality Assessment Tool for Quantitative Studies. Data extracted for this review included measure used, participant characteristics, study characteristics and outcomes of each study. Results from this review identified that QoL was negatively impacted for individuals living with EDS or MCAS compared to control groups. MCAS was found to have lower QoL compared to EDS. This review highlights the need for further research to be conducted for both conditions, and the need for interventions to be designed to help improve QoL for individuals.
