    Project Details

    Description

The island City of Portsmouth is exposed to many climate related hazards resulting in Flooding. Awareness of the hazards and correct actions during emergencies was low. This project surveyed local residents to create a communications preferences document for local managers and the public in general.

    Key findings

The majority of Portsmouth local population is aware of where reliable information on flood emergencies and response can be found (Local Council).
Local resident would prefer personalised information relating to their neighbourhood instead of generic information for the island.
Local residents would like audible alerts (sirens) as well as information on the TV , radio and social media in case of large magnitude event.
