Disrupted Authority

Project Details

Description

This project examines disruption to the inter-related authorities of church and state in the early modern period. In particular, it explores the ways in which a range of literature and cultural activities interrogate social, institutional and political practices. In so doing, it seeks to demonstrate how understanding the past can provide insight to the ways in which people see their position and rights within social and political structures today.
