Future Aleppo/Portsmouth in Paper

    In collaboration with ArtReach-Portsmouth and as part of the Journey Festival International in Portsmouth, We ran a series of workshops with school children and asylum seekers in the city to build their imagination of Portsmouth in paper and transfer it to a virtual model, similarly to Future Aleppo. The project explored how participants understand and read their cities. The project outcomes were presented as part of the Journey Festival International Portsmouth.

    Key findings

    A 3D VR experience of Portsmouth children's interpretation of their city was created.

    Architecture student were trained to produce VR prototypes of their physical models as a new tool that they can use in their learning.

    A workshop was held with the Future Aleppo Child which was inspiring to young children participated in the activities.
