Project Details
Description
This project aims to encourage more women in the workforce to apply for leadership positions by testing the interventions we have developed. Women represent only 5.8% of S&P 500 chief executive officers which contributes to the persistent gender pay gap. We need to know what interventions work to encourage women to apply for leadership positions to address their existing underrepresentation in the workforce. The project will use experimental methods and economic games to identify causal mechanisms behind the underrepresentation. We will run economic experiments to find the most successful interventions to encourage more women to lead. We will develop guidelines for effective interventions, that organizational policymakers can use to encourage more women into leadership and decision-making positions.
