Global Africa II

Project Details

Description

Global Africa II will continue the work of Global Africa I. It will be launched at a strategically important time for the continent given the numerous intersectional challenges from climate change and social inequalities to increased threats to peace and security. The group will work together to contribute to the evidence base on What Works to Build Resilience and Access to Justice for survivors of Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG). The project will focus on 3 themes, colleagues will work across each and lead one. This approach is designed to ensure that colleagues have the opportunity to develop research leadership skills whilst also building their expertise. Mentoring will be facilitated by Professor Tamsin Bradley.

The three research themes are:
1. Access to justice and approaches to law enforcement,
2. Perpetrator motivations for committing sexual violence against women and girls,
3. Empowering Girls and building resilience through Education.
