Investigation into the factors affecting biofilm formation on natural and synthetic dental materials

Our study aims to contribute to the development of improved denture care products that not only remove formed biofilm but also prevent its formation on dental materials. To achieve this, we will investigate the impact on neighbouring teeth in the case of partial dentures. Our research will focus on minimising salivary proteins adsorption, inhibiting the formation of surface pellicles, and impeding the detrimental colonisation of biofilms on these surfaces.
