Multiscale modelling of mechanical deterioration in lithium-ion batteries

Project Details

Description

The aim of this project is to perform the mathematical modelling, as well as the numerical and asymptotic analysis, required to understand and improve the mechanical integrity of the complex material structures utilised in modern LIBs.

Key findings

The outcomes of the project include the development of novel models, and methods for their solution, and will be of interest to the mathematical community as well as the battery community and industry.
