Project internally funded by the Cluster for Sustainable Cities. The project aims at exploring barriers to the use of technology in community projects of urban agriculture. Two small hydroponic systems were installed in two community gardens in Portsmouth and volunteers of these groups were interviewed.
Initial findings - Sample of people interviewed showed good knowledge of technological systems of cultivation such as hydroponics. However, there is reluctance in consuming hydroponically grown produce because of the use of chemicals.
