Project Details
Description
PhD scholarship to apply engineering knowledge and experience to optimise the centrifugal compressors for the refrigeration industry. To achieve this by applying CFD modelling, applied thermodynamics and optimisation techniques to current and new compressor models using the HPC facilities at the University of Portsmouth. To investigate the use of optimisation techniques to understand and establish scaling relationships between different sizes of compressors. This will be applied to determine optimal designs for a novel range of compressors.
