Novel Solar Window to produce Power and Space Heating

    Project Details

    Description

Solar photovoltaics (PV) cells convert only a fraction of the incident solar radiation into electricity. A major fraction becomes heat and raises the temperature of the cells. The waste heat can be used for space heating.

    Layperson's description

Around 70% of the solar radiation falling on the solar photovoltaics (PV) cells becomes heat. The heat can be used for space heating.
