Description
Series of three studies investigating three prototype fire fighter personal protective equipment (PPE) clothing ensembles: structural fire fighting ensemble; rescue fire fighting ensemble; & layered fire fighting ensemble. The three studies investigate differences in a. heat strain when working and recovering in UK summer conditions; b. the physiological cost of movement when undertaking a series of fire fighter relevant activities, and; c. the flame protection of these ensembles when exposed to life-threatening flame exposures. All of these in support of the UK Fire Service Collaborative PPE programme, managed by Kent Fire & Rescue Service.
