Portsmouth Child Death Immersion Programme

Project Details

Description

The project consists of design, production and delivery of an interactive and immersive child death investigation course for medical professionals and senior investigating police officers. This is a collaborative course using the health science simulation suites with an experienced senior investigator and medical professional facilitating each session. It will provide delegates with a multidisciplinary programme that allows practitioners to understand the intricacies of this complex area of investigative practice. We anticipate running six cohorts over 15 months, between April 2023 and July 2024. The courses are also being utilised to conduct research with frontline practitioners with a view to strengthening the effectiveness of medical/police practice and informing national policy documents relating to child death investigation in England.
