Description
Expansion of placements via simulation.
Layperson's description
This project includes the development and delivery of a six week long, simulated placement for third year Nursing students, which will include case-based learning, simulation based education including working with standardised patients on our simulated wards and in the community setting (primary care and home Nursing). A variety of scenarios appropriate to Adult and Mental Health Nursing will be included and students will be grouped, so that they all experience relevant situations, according to their field of Nursing. In additions, software to enhance engagement with patient records and clinical examinations will be embedded, and facilities in our extensive centre for Simulation in Health and Care will be upgraded to increase capacity.
