Description
In 2020-2022, Vrij received funding from the HIG for his Sketching as an interview tool to elicit information and cues to deceit project (15F06720C0002035, $163,219 in 2020, $181,389 in 2021 and $183,968 in 2022) with Drs Mann and Leal as part-time Senior Research Fellows and Dr Deeb as a fulltime Senior Research Associate.
Key findings
This project showed that in interviews where information about routes and locations is needed, asking suspects to generate a sketch may be more effective than presenting them with a printed map.
