Project Details
Description
Participation in social leisure activities helps with reducing social isolation/loneliness for disabled individuals and contributes to their physical and emotional well-being, especially autistic individuals. Minimally speaking autistic adults engage in a range of leisure activities, but experience lower satisfaction with the activities when compared to speaking non-autistic individuals. We are interested in experiences of minimally speaking autistic adults' engagement in social leisure activities. We are requesting funds for the following research activities: (1) Participant compensation as participants may need an extended amount of time to use their electronic communication device to provide responses to interview questions, (2) the Leisure Assessment Inventory - English and Spanish versions, and (3) Autistic consultant compensation Autistic consultants bring invaluable first-hand insights and unique perspectives Autistic consultants bring invaluable first-hand insights and unique perspectives to research studies focused on autism, enhancing the relevance and authenticity of the findings. Please see budget attached.
