Description
The Summer Interns Programme 2009 was funded by South East Coastal Communities (SECC). SECC was established to promote collaborative partnerships between higher education establishments and community groups across the South East coastal region. The Project Office was asked to co-ordinate and manage a total of 10 undergraduate and postgraduate ‘Interns’ for a period of 8 weeks during the 2009 academic summer vacation with all of the students being paid for their time. The aim of this project was to allow students and staff from the School of Architecture Project Office to create design ideas and visionary solutions for existing buildings and land owned by the Diocese of Portsmouth: St George’s Church (Portsea), Treadgolds Museum (Portsea), St Mary the Virgin Church Rowner (Gosport) and St Luke’s Church (Southsea).
