Description
The scientific evidence for the health benefits of exercise have been well established, however, many individuals, older adults in particular, do not engage in regular exercise. This is often due to the presence of physical limitations or medical contraindications. The use of hot water immersion raises core body temperature similar to exercise and could provide similar health benefits that obtained through regular exercise. The majority of previous work in this area, however, has been performed in young, healthy populations, whereas older individuals are likely to derive the greatest benefits from regular hot bathing and are less likely to be able to perform the recommended amount of exercise to
