    Project Details

    Description

In collaboration with the University of Brighton, Dr Ray Ward, PI, I am Co.I, on a PhD project to investigate the fate of kelp derived carbon in Sussex waters. We have have successfully managed the first government-sanction protected area, tom restore natural kelp forests. The aim of this research is to determine the productivity of new growth kelp forests, and to determine the areas of kelp carbon stores. We will be using eDNA, stable isotope analysis, and Pb-210 dating to identify and determine carbon amounts.
