The research project investigated the impact of securitization on bilateral and multilateral donors’ sectoral aid disbursement patterns, using quantitative econometric methods, as well as qualitative analysis of policy documents.

Key findings

This project found that securitisation had impacted the both the discourse around and distribution of multilateral and bilateral development aid. This impact was variated across donors and focussed on democractisation and conflict resolution.
