To explore the ECEC sectors perspectives of ECS degrees (FD and BA Hons Top Up) and ECS graduates on Isle Of Wight

Project Details

Description

This funded project explores undergraduate students perspectives on their programme in Isle of Wight (IOW) college. We expect to provide a better understanding of how the Early Childhood Education and Care sector is able to contribute to the notion of ‘graduate-ness’ and ‘graduate skills’ in IOW. We hope that with a better understanding of the sector needs the universities can ensure that undergraduates and graduates are prepared for employment. The research aims:
- To map the terrain on the IOW by reviewing relevant localised and national policy and research literature;
- To investigate students experiences and what ECS degrees offer the sector in IOW;
- To identify implications for the delivery of HE in ECS, both Foundation Degree and Ba Hons Top Up, and the inclusion of Graduate Practitioner Competencies within ECS degree programmes.
