To upskill frontline practitioners to identify, assess, support and challenge people who use abusive behaviours in their intimate partner relationships and to deliver behaviour change intervention to clients on low risk pathways

    Project Details

    Description

This project investigates whether Domestic Violence/Abuse (DVA) clients are diverse, or, generally homogeneous - as often assumed. The project also evaluates the upskilling (training, development and support) of 35 key practitioners within services across Portsmouth, including: Children and Families, Adult Social Care, Substance Misuse, Police, Housing, Health, and Mental Health services. The guiding question is: ‘How diverse are people who use DVA, and does better awareness of dynamics of DVA associate with better targeted referrals for specialist intervention?’
