Project Details
Description
The changing dynamics of transnational civil society (TCS) activism against the background of increasing authoritarianism and international instability (including Brexit, Covid-19 pandemic, Ukraine war, cost of living crisis) has come to the forefront of public debates recently. The bottom-up mobilisation of citizens, their interaction with (international) non-governmental organisations (INGOs) and, ultimately, demands to policymakers signal the importance of TCS activism in the safeguarding of democratic ideals within and across nations state borders.
