Understanding patterns of elevation-dependent warming in the Third Pole Regions

    Project Details

    Description

This project was essentially a networking grant to support the exchange of scientists between Shanghai Fudan University and the University of Portsmouth.

    Layperson's description

Visits of Fudan staff and students to UoP took place in August 2019 to discuss methods of field data collection with the idea of setting up some elevational transects in China to measure elevation dependent warming. This was then followed by a follow up visit in November 2019 by Dr Pepin to Shanghai for future exchange of ideas. Unfortunately after this the grant was curtailed by COVID and no further visits were then possible and the fieldwork component never happened. The focus therefore changed to secondary data analysis and joint publications. Several joint publications were created and published as a result of the grant and these are listed in the publications of Dr Pepin.
