Vascular Dementia: Failure of Fluid Drainage from Cerebral White Matter

Project Details

Description

This proposal addresses how impairment of perivascular intramural clearance of fluid contributes to white matter hyperintensities and the associated pathology of the white matter, addressing a key mechanism underlying the pathogenesis of vascular dementia. The aim is to develop a novel preclinical model of vascular dementia, based on α-dystrobrevin knock-out mice.
