Vibration sensors on military submarines

    Project Details

    Description

The focus of this project is to develop algorithms to detect faulty vibration and acoustic sensors to TRL4. Different types of sensor faults are to be considered along with a wide variety of signal processing and machine learning techniques to detect and classify the faults.

    Layperson's description

Submarines use vibration and acoustic sensors to learn about and navigate through the underwater environment. They need to know that these sensors are working in order to navigate and operate successfully.
