Vital Signs Study

    Project Details

    Description

The aim of this work was to assess the performance of a non-invasive vital signs monitor (Lifelight) and compare its agreement to gold standard methods in both low oxygen and normoxic environments in healthy adults. The non-invasive vital signs monitor was designed to detect early changes in vital signs to enable timely medical intervention by non-clinical staff in residential and home care settings. The outcome measures of interest were blood pressure, heart rate, breathing frequency and arterial oxygen saturation estimated via pulse oximetry. The research was undertaken to provide underpinning data to support the application by Xim Ltd to take this new technology to market.
