Project Details
Description
This collaborative project (conducted mainly at Jagiellonian University in Krakow) explores different ways of reducing the impact of misinformation in different settings. Three (series of) studies will investigate (1) the impact of multiple misinformation that is mutually contradictory (e.g. a blue car falsely described as green and then as black); (2) the role of warnings and discrepancy detection in reducing the effect of misinformation on memory; and (3) the role of credibility in explicit corrections of misinformation and the subsequent effects on memory and beliefs.
