    Abstract

    An overview of the role of architecture and urban design in Science Fiction Cinema. The article was part of the catalogue for the Science Fiction Retrospective at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. The article discusses how architecture plays an important role in the image of the future, but also how it helps to materialise the social relations of the futuristic anxieties that are expressed in the science fiction genre.
