Abstract

It cannot be over emphasized that with the rising oil, gas and energy prices and shortage of supplies energy security is increasingly becoming a matter for acute international political, diplomatic and, above all, legal concern not only of any particular region but also of the whole world. With the ever-increasing demand for oil in China, India and in the tiger economies of South-East and North-East Asia the political and diplomatic landscapes of Asia are beginning to make a significant mark on the world stage.
