    Abstract

This book is an edited collection of essays written by architects, artists and theorists, on the theme of sound and architecture. As main editor, A. Karandinou, says, architecture is not only that which is built - architecture can be examined, mapped and experienced in different ways. Different theorists, architects and artists have been increasingly concerned with this field of notions and thoughts, and this is also reflected upon their work. The atmosphere, the sounds, the smells, constitute characteristics of space, characteristics that are assuming an increasing importance within architectural research worldwide.
