    Abstract

This paper proposes a strategy for the automation and integration of quality systems for manufacture. It describes a systematic structured quality system design and improvement process, together with a comprehensive approach to automation in data collection and quality data management; within a framework - compatible with the themes of Total Quality Management - which a manufacturing company may use to automate quality control operations.
