    Abstract

This book explores the way in which various nations at different stages of development and with very different socio-economic and cultural traditions respond to the globalisation of accounting standards in general, and IFRS in particular. It examines the forces promoting change but, perhaps more interestingly, also those acting as a brake on the process. Providing a truly international overview of the subject, the book consists of 16 chapters provided by contributors from at least 12 different countries. Jayne M.
