Abstract

The Making of the Irish Constitution 1937 is divided into three sections. The first is the foreword by Dr. Gerard Hogan, an abbreviated version of a larger article published in this journal, "De Valera, the Constitution and the Historians" Irish Jurist, Vol.XL (N.S. 2005) 293. The second section comprises the main body of the text, a further seven chapters. Finally approximately half of the total extent of the book consists of appendices which are reproductions of the primary documents relating to the drafting of the Irish Constitution.
