Abstract
A new fauna of cirripedes is described from the Cretaceous (Albian and Cenomanian) of northeastern Texas and southern Oklahoma. This includes 14 species assigned to nine genera, included in the families Zeugmatolepadidae Newman, 1996, Scalpellidae Pilsbry, 1907, Cretiscalpellidae Buckeridge, 1983 and Stramentidae Withers, 1920. New taxa include Texaslepas holterhoffi gen. nov., sp. nov., Jagtscalpellum luteorum sp. nov., Ivolepas worthensis sp. nov., Diotascalpellum acies sp. nov., Arcuatoscalpellum wacoensis sp. nov., Virgiscalpellum marysensis sp. nov., V. rugosum sp. nov., Angulotergum robustum sp. nov., A. kiamichensis sp. nov., A. milviformis sp. nov., Loriculina fragila sp. nov. and L. rubrifluvia sp. nov. All species are small; the material was obtained by washing large bulk samples. The faunas are dominated by stramentids, which were predominantly epizoans that attached to shells of live ammonites. Benthic taxa are generally less common, but equally diverse.
