Abstract

Conditions in architectural design around the world call for new solutions in which younger generations are engaged and how social challenges can be physically implemented. Sustainability, energy, climate resilience, water safety, mobility, population, vacancy levels health, food, refugees and terrorism need to be addressed. The built environment can be the consequence of a well considered process, baseed on ambitious collaborative concepts. Competitions, or more specifically design contests, could offer new solutions.
