Abstract
Innerhalb der jüdischen Geschichte spielt bei Ausprägung und Diskussion einer Identität die jüdische Presse eine wichtige Rolle. Die historischen jüdischen Zeitungen und Zeitschriften, Kalender, Almanache und Jahrbücher seit der Haskala dokumentieren eine teils innerjüdische, teils in die Allgemeinheit zielende Auseinandersetzung um politische, gesellschaftliche und kulturelle Ereignisse, Ziele und Vorstellungen, um Abwehr und Selbstbehauptung gegenüber Judenfeindschaft und Antisemitismus.
