    Abstract

This chapter examines the recent results from Free-Air-CO2-Enrichment (FACE) experiments that have addressed the question of rising atmospheric CO2 effects on forest productivity. Modifying factors such as genetic variation, age of trees, climate, air pollution and nutrients are discussed, and the remaining major knowledge gaps are highlighted.
