Abstract

This online report presents best-practice from four current composer-lyricists working in musical theatre in the UK, with respect to their approaches and understanding of documenting their work on record. It elucidates a definition of 'cast recording' from a writers' perspective, and in doing so, offers practical suggestions for other creatives by identifying possibilities, pitfalls and best practices to document works of new musical theatre in a UK context.
