Abstract

This is the blog for a project funded by a Wellcome Trust Investigator Award in Humanities and Social Science. It began in July 2020 and will end in July 2024.

This research project explores how Zines ‘craft contention’ about mental health – and can help to turn individual struggles into critical issues for society (and mental health services). The team at UCLan have been identifying, analysing and co-producing a diverse range of what we collectively refer to as MadZines.

Jac Batey is a consultant on the project as a zine/illustration scholar.
