Museen verhandeln Vergangenheit und Zukunft. Immer häufiger thematisieren sie dabei Europa und die Europäische Union. Zugleich entdecken europäische Institutionen das Museum als Instrument kultureller Integration. Europäisierung als kulturelle Praxis des europäisch Machens wirft neue Fragen auf: Wer prägt diese Praxis? Wie kann Europa gesammelt werden? Welche Geschichte(n) Europas lassen sich erzählen? Wie werden dessen Grenzen in Museen und Ausstellungen thematisiert? Welche Wechselbeziehungen bestehen übergreifend zwischen Europäisierung und Musealisierung?
