Abstract

This brief report has been prepared to inform the National Health Service England about the Clinical Academic Internship Model that allows Nurses, Midwives, and Allied Health Professionals to assume the role of Clinical Practice Educators at Higher Education Institutions in Southeast England.

The model was created through a strategic partnership between the Integrated Care Systems, Trusts, and Universities in the region and led by the University of Portsmouth.

The report will encompass the illustration of clinical academic pathways, the evaluation of the confidence and competence levels of the interns, and will delve into the factors that hinder or promote the success of the programme.
