Abstract

The numerical solution of first order Volterra integro-differential equations of neutral type with continuous kernel is considered. Preliminary results from the application of extended backward differentiation methods are given and comparisons are made with Adams-Bashforth / Adams-Moulton predictor-corrector methods and collocation methods.
