Abstract

The paper describes the design and implementation of a fuzzy controller for traffic network management in urban areas.The controller uses expert knowledge for the derivation of its fuzzy rules.The proposed controller is simulated and compared to a conventional proportional controller by means of the software platform for traffic management Aimsun.
