Abstract

As we head into a new decade, it’s time to look at how social workers can think more creatively about their approach to working with children and families. As we start to think more about how to empower sustained change with complex families, we hear about a new model of social care called GEMS which has been devised by Dr. Emma Maynard, Senior Lecturer in the School of Education & Sociology, University of Portsmouth. Here, Dr. Maynard tells us in her own words about GEMS and explains how local authorities wishing to participate in the trial can get involved….
